It’s time to get out and vote.
Finalists for the 2025 Shorty Awards—the annual prize honoring the best work on digital and social platforms—have been revealed, and E! News’ digital teams have received four finalist placements. Indeed, the organization has been recognized for its coverage of Wicked’s Los Angeles premiere in November and the digital series Hot Goss.
During the November Wicked event, E! News partnered with Fandango to present exclusive red carpet interviews with the film’s stars Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande, as well as footage of the pair engaging with fans and content creators.
"It's a very supportive witch coven, I have to say,” Ariana told E! News of the women who had filled the roles of Glinda and Elphaba before her, including original stars Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel. “Every single one of our sister witches has been very, very, very supportive. We just feel so honored to be a part of this legacy and to be the ones in the movie. It's such a sweet thing to share with them."
Both the live stream interviews and the on-site CreatorCam have been recognized by the Shorty Awards. The E! @ Wicked Premiere Livestream is a finalist in the Entertainment category, as is the E! @ Wicked Premiere CreatorCam. The latter is also a finalist in the Live Video category.
Meanwhile, E! News’ digital series Hot Goss is a finalist in the Vertical Video category, nominated alongside a Call of Duty marketing campaign and The Jennifer Hudson Show’s viral “Spirit Tunnel” series. E! News’ Snapchat series The Rundown was also a nominee in the Vertical Video category.

While winners for each category are selected by members of the Shorty Awards’ Real Time Academy, fan votes determine which nominees earn the Audience Honor. In order to vote, fans can visit www.shortyawards.com/vote to make their voices heard. Voting for the Audience Honor ends April 30.
The Winners Ceremony for the 17th Annual Shorty Awards will take place May 21 in New York City
